    Daytime Bible study explores the Scriptures as a way to increase our faith as we are transformed by God’s Word.

     Our prayer chain group reaches out to those in need of prayers during a difficult time.  Members are contacted by phone or e-mail to carry out the request.

     Praying the Rosary promotes devotion to Mary and contemplation upon the Mysteries of Christ.  The Rosary is prayed Tuesday through Friday at 8:30AM - before 9:00AM daily Mass.


LITURGY

    The Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in distributing the Body of Christ and the Precious Blood during Mass.  Some Eucharistic Ministers take the Eucharist to those who are homebound. Jeanie Nicholson 509.292.2629

    To enhance the worship experience through melodic prayer is the goal of the various music groups. We invite  and encourage participation by the congregation and we welcome others to join us.

Altar Servers

    Altar servers assist the priest at Mass.  New members are sought and trained in the Fall of each year.

    Keeping fresh flowers or live plants before the altar provides beauty to our Celebration.  If supply is plentiful we will place them throughout the church.

    Teams of parish volunteers (two or three at a time) maintain and clean the church to provide a warm, inviting and clean place for all to worship.

SERVICE

    The Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic men and their families, and Religious.  Every day the Knights experience the importance of the vision of their founder Fr. Michael J McGiveny: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. By working together the Knights help those most in need.

    The Altar Society welcomes all parish women to care for the Altar and Sanctuary of the church. The Society also promotes spiritual and social activities in the parish.

Coffee, Donuts and Fellowship

    Refreshments and fellowship are provided after the Sunday morning Masses.  Service includes setup before the 8:30AM Mass and clean up after the 10:30AM Mass.

     Our mission at St. Mary's is to provide prayer, a presence, and assistance to those in our faith community.  Presence and assistance might include offering companionship to the sick and homebound (including Eucharistic Ministry), visiting parishioners in the hospital or in care facilities, offering bereavement support through cards and personal contact, and supporting those on the prayer list.

Prayer Shawl and Rosary Making

We meet weekly Thursdays at 2 PM, to knit or crochet prayer shawls or to make rosaries to be donated for the comfort that these items provide.

Materials are received by donation and placed in the Library in the parish hall.  Anyone is welcome to check out a book, video or DVD.

    We develop ways to raise money for our Building Fund.  Chocolate, pins, gift baskets, raffles and job exchange are some of the ways we help fund the "extras" in the new church building.
   
COUNCILS

    The Pastoral Council is an advisory group of parishioners who council the Pastor in matters of the parish.  These matters include: spiritual, educational and financial affairs.  Members of this council are nominated by the parishioners. Current members are: Deacon Perry Pearman, Dennis Allard, George Bacon, George Bombe Leslie Cushman, Carla Phillips.

     Holy Redeemer Cemetery Council is an advisory group to the pastor.  This group keeps Father informed of the operation and maintenance of the cemetery. This council is comprised of volunteer members. Current members are: Deacon Perry Pearman, Dennis Allard, Darrell Wehr, Dennis Koesel, Jack Schneider, Dianna Slama, Bety Stinger, Greg Yochum.  Holy Redeemer Cemetery is located on 6th and Coville Road in Deer Park.
